Module 1 Case Consult 1 Activity
Overview

Current treatments and emerging therapies offer many possible options for the management of a patient with proliferative diabetic retinopathy-diabetic macular edema (PDR-DME). This interactive case uses an engaging and challenging treatment sorting game to explore those options for a patient with PDR-DME and provide strategies for an optimal outcome. Treatment decision points will provide opportunities to assess multiple strategies in the care plan to ensure an optimal outcome.

 

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of retina specialists, retina fellows, and select comprehensive ophthalmologists.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Assess the effects of intravitreal anti- VEGF therapy on DR/DME, as evidenced by recent data
  • Differentiate among new and emerging strategies for more durable dosing of anti-VEGF to treat DR/DME
  • Develop treatment plans for patients with DR/DME that are safe, effective, and tailored to patients’ clinical needs and personal preferences
