Founded in 1968, the American Academy of Physician Associates is the national professional society for PAs (physician associates/physician assistants). It represents a profession of more than 150,000 PAs across all medical and surgical specialties in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, US territories, and the uniformed services.
CAFP focuses on family physicians’ professional challenges and health policy concerns through advocacy and education to expand access to high-quality and cost-effective patient care for 11,000 family physician members in California. It is committed to helping family physicians improve their everyday practice lives by offering affordable evidence-based CME, providing cost-saving practice management resources, delivering practical approaches to practice transformation, and fostering opportunities to promote the family medicine specialty and ensure a strong and healthy primary care pipeline.
CAFP is the largest primary care specialty organization in California and the largest chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). CAFP works nationally and internationally with primary care and medical specialty organizations and others to provide high quality, evidence- and outcomes-based education. Our efforts in CPE/QI include national programming on a range of clinical and non-clinical topics, using multiple vehicles for needs assessment, curriculum development and implementation, and outcomes measurement. The CAFP, also a founding member of the Collaborative for REMS Education (CO*RE), CS2day, and TEAM-A, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians since 1994 and received accreditation with commendation in 2006, 2013, and 2019.
Founded in 1916, Endocrine Society is currently the world’s largest and most active organization devoted to hormone research and the clinical practice of endocrinology. As a recognized leader in developing educational activities to propel research and improve practice, the Society serves the needs of more than 18,000 physicians and scientists from over 119 countries. Members represent the full range of disciplines that include clinicians, researchers, educators, fellows and students, industry professionals, and allied healthcare professionals. The Center for Sustainable Health Care Quality and Equity, part of NMQF, was created in 2017 to help translate data, geomaps, and educational efforts into improved health in underserved communities, through provider and community education and practice improvement.
